Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Sky Sports revealed that Wolves are in talks with Lille over a deal for Renato Sanches.
What’s the story?
Firstly, you might be wondering why this news concerns Tottenham fans.
Well, some Spurs supporters believe this could be a way for Jorge Mendes to negotiate Adama Traore’s move to N17.
Of course, Sanches and Traore do not play in the same position, so that theory seems strange at first.
However, the Tottenham fans believe Mendes is bringing one of his clients to Molineux to act as a sweetener to get another of his clients to north London.
In our view, that makes sense.
If the super agent brokered a move away from Wolves for Traore without doing something to keep his associates in the Midlands happy, Mendes could damage his connections at Molineux.
Will Tottenham sign Adama Traore?
In our view, it’s definitely possible.
Spanish news outlet AS revealed that Tottenham and Wolves had agreed a £39.4m fee for the ex-Barcelona forward.
Elsewhere, the Mirror believe Traore really wants Spurs to sign him today, before the transfer window slams shut.
With Mendes heavily involved, a man who has already pushed plenty of players towards Spurs, this deal could well happen.
If it did, Tottenham would be seriously exciting to watch.
Just imagine Traore’s mesmeric runs dragging defenders out wide, freeing up space for Heung-min Son and Harry Kane.
Nuno could make Spurs a real force with the dynamic Spaniard on the wing.
