According to The Mirror’s transfer live blog (30/8/21 10:34PM), Adama Traore is still hoping that Tottenham make a move to sign him on transfer deadline day.

Spurs have been strongly linked with a move for the Spaniard for a number of weeks now, and while their initial loan offer was rebuffed, the winger is hoping that the London club come back in for him.

It wouldn’t be a shock if Spurs did move for Traore again. After all, he’s a player Nuno Espirito Santo knows very well after their time together at Wolves, and he’s seemingly a player he very much admires, even praising him after Spurs’ recent clash with his former club.

The feeling is seemingly mutual, with this report stating that Traore is keen to reunite with his former manager, and given that Nuno got the best out of the Spaniard at Wolves, we can understand why he’s so keen to make this move.

Unfortunately for Spurs, Traore won’t come cheaply. The Mirror claim that it would take as much as £40m to convince Wolves to part ways with the player Charlie Nicholas recently claimed ‘thrives in big games’.

Traore’s ability to turn up against top opposition is something Spurs could certainly do with, while his arrival could also allow Nuno to comfortably switch to his preferred 3-4-3 formation.

This could be one that goes right down to the wire on deadline day.
