Some Arsenal fans online have been reacting after Mesut Ozil’s stats from this season with Fenerbahce did the rounds on social media.
How’s Ozil doing?
Ozil headed to Turkey last January, and almost 12 months on from his move to Fenerbahce, it seems as though he’s settling into his new surroundings.
Last season Ozil didn’t exactly light up Turkey. He didn’t score a single goal and he grabbed just one assist.
Ozil didn’t settle immediately at his new club, and he was even played at left-back at one point, much to the bemusement of Arsenal supporters.
However, this season, he’s really kicked on.
He has five goals and two assists in just 752 minutes of league action, and he’s also the club’s top scorer in the league.

To be honest, it’s not too surprising to see Ozil improving over in Turkey.
His slow start was to be expected. After all, he was left to rot for six months at Arsenal before he was eventually allowed to leave, but now that he’s back into the swing of things, he’s looking like a star again.
Perhaps the German just needed a run of games to rediscover his form, because he’s putting up some brilliant numbers this term, averaging a goal contribution every 107 minutes.
Of course, it’s just the Turkish league, which isn’t the best standard, but Arsenal fans have still been rather impressed by his resurgence.
