Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of signing Weston McKennie could be improving – but it may not be great news for Liverpool.
Calciomercato claim that Juventus are prepared to sell McKennie in order to fund their own January signings.
McKennie is viewed as expendable, with Tottenham and West Ham United believed to be most interested in the American.
McKennie, 23, has started four Serie A games this term but is now expected to leave Turin in January.
An athletic and energetic midfielder, McKennie could help Tottenham or West Ham – but the news could dent Liverpool.
Liverpool could miss out on Tchouameni to Juventus
The report notes that Juventus want to sell McKennie because they are desperate to land Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni.
Tchouameni is becoming a star in Ligue 1, and now has many major European clubs chasing his signature.

Juventus currently can’t afford him, and need to offload a player – such as McKennie – to make it happen.
Juventus expect competition from Liverpool according to Tuttosport, with a fee of around £34million needed for Tchouameni.
If Tottenham do land McKennie in January, that could see Liverpool miss out on Tchouameni – a player being likened to Paul Pogba.
That’s all the more reason for Liverpool to make their move soon, attempting to see up a January deal before Juventus can get involved.
