Ally McCoist does not think that Chelsea will hire Tottenham Hotspur managerial target Mauricio Pochettino as their new boss.
The Rangers legend has said on talkSPORT that he would be surprised if Chelsea hire former Tottenham boss Pochettino as their manager.
Both Chelsea and Tottenham are on the hunt for a new manager in the summer of 2023.
And both the London clubs have been linked with Pochettino, who is without a managerial role at the moment after parting ways with Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season.
On Thursday, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on Twitter that Chelsea have made contact with Pochettino over becoming their manager at the end of the season.
The Times have reported that the 51-year-old is among the managers Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is looking at.
Former Tottenham forward and talkSPORT presenter Alan Brazil has said on talkSPORT (6:24am, April 21, 2023) that Pochettino “wants to go back to Tottenham”.
While Tottenham are in the running for the top four of the Premier League table this season, former UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea may not even end up in the top half of the standings.

Ally McCoist on Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur manager target Mauricio Pochettino
“I would be surprised if Chelsea’s next manager is Pochettino,” McCoist told talkSPORT.
“I think he might have been interviewed and might have been a target, but I don’t think he’s their top target. I think they’ll still be looking at somebody like [Julian] Nagelsmann or maybe [Luis] Enrique.
“I understand him coming into the equation because he’s an excellent manager and an excellent coach. I would still be very surprised.”
