Earlier today, Richarlison was introduced to his Tottenham teammates for the first time since his £60m move from Everton.
The Brazilian also sat down with Spurs to chat about his move to north London, where he admitted one thing about the transfer might make him quite “emotional” when it happens.
What’s the story?
Well, Richarlison cannot wait to play in the Champions League, and believes he may even “cry” when he walks out to the famous anthem for the first time.
Speaking to Tottenham, the 25-year-old said: “I always said it was my dream to play in the Champions League, and now this dream will come true. Maybe I will cry because it will be a special moment. When the time comes I’ll be quite emotional.”
Clearly, Richarlison will realise a childhood dream when he walks out to play his first Champions League match in September, which is when the Group Stage begins.
Of course, Spurs are yet to discover who they will face upon their return to Europe’s greatest club competition, although every Champions League game is special, regardless of the opponent.
We’re sure that Richarlison won’t care whether it’s Real Madrid or Fenerbahce he’s facing – he clearly just wants to grace the Champions League and achieve a boyhood dream.
Richarlison could help Tottenham win the Champions League

Before you shoot down that claim, hear us out.
In our view, Tottenham already have a strong starting XI which is good enough to win most matches, although it is depth which wins you silverware.
For example, let’s envisage a scenario in which Tottenham reach the knockout phases, but Harry Kane or Heung-min Son suffer a serious injury.

Before the arrival of Richarlison, this would’ve seriously derailed Spurs, but now, they have depth in their frontline, and can call upon a player of the Brazilian’s quality to cover.
His presence also means Antonio Conte can rotate his attack, which will in fact lessen the chances of Kane or Son picking up an injury in the first place.
Only time will tell, but this could be the signing which propels Tottenham to their first trophy since 2008.
