Tottenham Hotspur might be about to lose Reo Griffiths.

Mauricio Pochettino raised eyebrows among Tottenham Hotspur fans when he omitted Reo Griffiths from his USA tour squad last week.
The Argentine included a whole host of young Spurs players, but there was no room for the 18-year-old striker who scored 32 goals in 27 games for Tottenham’s Under-18 side last season.
It seemed a bit of an odd decision but does it finally make sense?
According to French outlet Radio Scoop, Lyon are in advanced negotiations with the North Londoners over signing Griffiths, who has been unable to agree a new contract with the Lilywhites.
The Sun have also reported that Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are hot on his heels and although it remains to be seen where he winds up, it’s looking obvious that he isn’t going to be among Pochettino’s side for long and therefore leaving him behind was the logical decision.
Tottenham fans will hate to lose a player as talented as Griffiths, especially if he comes good at the home of a European superpower like Real for instance.
But it would’ve looked bad had Pochettino brought him to USA, and then the youngster left mid-way through for a medical elsewhere.
This was the smart move, even if some Spurs fans on Twitter didn’t understand it at the time.
