The Sun are reporting that Mauricio Pochettino could still become the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur.

What’s the story?

According to The Sun, there is still a chance that Pochettino could return to Tottenham.

The 49-year-old was sacked as the Spurs head coach in November 2019.

The Argentine was very successful during his time at Tottenham, establishing the club as regulars in the Premier League top four and guiding them to the Champions League final in 2019.

Pochettino was appointed the Paris Saint-Germain manager in January 2021.

The Sun are reporting that although PSG have trigged a one-year extension to his contract, there is still a chance that Pochettino could become available.

How?

Well, if PSG are able to persuade Zindine Zidane or Didier Deschamps to take charge of PSG after the Euro 2020 finals…

Should Tottenham fans be excited?

Tottenham fans would welcome Pochettino with welcome warms.

However, we suggest that Spurs supporters do not get too excited.

Of course, there is always a small chance that the 49-year-old could be back at Spurs, but it does appear unlikely now.

Pochettino reportedly played a key role in bringing former Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum to PSG.

PSG have always been adamant that they do not want to let Pochettino go.

ESPN have also reported that Pochettino wants to sign Achraf Hakimi for the French club.

Surely, PSG would not let the Argentine sign these players if they wanted to just let him go.
