Tottenham face Vitesse this week in the UEFA Europa Conference League. And Nuno Espirito Santo has already reportedly made it known how he plans on approaching the game in training.
As reported by Football London, the ten outfield players who started Sunday’s game against Newcastle were absent from training this morning at the Tottenham Hotspur Training Centre.
The likes of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Tanguy Ndombele were missing from training today. With Nuno seemingly set to play a second-string Tottenham side against Vitesse on Thursday.
The decision in training from Nuno could mean that the likes of Joe Rodon, Steven Bergwijn and Dane Scarlett could all start tomorrow in Arnhem. Tottenham head into their clash against Vitesse top of Group G.
Indeed, the decision to completely refresh the squad is perhaps not too surprising. After all, the Premier League is arguably more important this season for Spurs than success in Europe.
And rotating the side gives the likes of Dele Alli, Bryan Gil and Pierluigi Gollini the chance to gain match fitness and to impress Nuno.
