Kieran Tierney believes people outside of Arsenal do not truly realise the ‘massive’ role and work that Alexandre Lacazette puts in for the Gunners, via quotes by the Evening Standard.
Lacazette has stood up for Arsenal in recent months as their new on-field captain after boss Mikel Arteta stripped Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of the armband. The call was somewhat perplexing with the Frenchman out of contract in June, yet is showing he warrants the role.
The striker gives his all on every blade of grass in north London, as evident with his display on Thursday. Lacazette continually hassled Wolves while the Gunners trailed and regularly tracked back into his defensive third. He also kept plugging away in search of a goal.

Lacazette took eight shots on Jose Sa’s net as Arsenal came from behind to beat Wolves 2-1 on Thursday. He had never previously taken so many in a single Premier League game since joining for £46.5m. It was also the most by a Gunners player in one game since 2017.
The 30-year-old ultimately did not score with Arsenal’s 95th-minute winner credited as a Sa own goal. Lacazette mishit his strike at a tight angle before the Wolves goalkeeper tipped the ball into his own net. He has failed to score a Premier League goal since Boxing Day.
Tierney feels ‘amazing’ Lacazette is underrated outside of Arsenal
Tierney strongly feels Lacazette deserved the luck of Sa tipping his shot home for Arsenal to beat Wolves. He also believes the £180k-a-week man – who the Evening Standard note the Gunners paused contract talks with until this summer – is underrated outside of the club.
“He deserves that more than anyone tonight,” Tierney said. “The work that he puts in that people don’t see, people don’t recognise away from the football club, is massive.

“It helps all the young boys, it helps everyone in the team. You can trust him. He’s the captain and he’s just an amazing guy, as well. I am so, so happy for him tonight.”
