Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has raved about Mohamed Salah on the club’s official website.

Klopp has been left stunned by the development of Salah, who has become a goal machine under the Liverpool manager.

The German told Liverpool’s official website about Salah: “Top – absolutely top, but it is not about signing. You can sign a player but then we all are responsible, so the player [is] obviously as well and the coaches, to make it happen.”

Klopp added: “With Mo, from the guy who scores from time to time and is a really good football player to this goalscoring machine is a massive development.

“He is an outstanding signing, but for sure the way he developed, the way he treats himself, the game preparation, the training preparation, training attitude and all these kind of things, that’s exceptional. That’s a real role model and he deserves all that, absolutely.”

Salah joined Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017 as a winger and was expected to create chances more than score goals.

The former Chelsea player was brilliant during his time at Roma, but at Anfield, the Egypt international has developed into a regular goalscorer in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old forward has scored 21 goals and provided four assists in the Premier League this season and could win the Golden Boot.

Salah scored 19 goals in the league last season, while in 2018-19 he scored 22 times in the league and found the back of net on 32 occasions in the league in 2017-18.

Liverpool are not having the best of seasons and could miss out on the top four.

However, Salah’s contribution should not be underestimated.

True, the Egyptian has not always been great this season, but he has scored goals regularly.

While fellow attackers Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have struggled for goals this season, Salah has consistently banged them in.

Liverpool can still finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season, and for that to happen, Salah needs to be on top form in the final three games.
