Bakalorz was again linked with a move to Leeds United on Monday.
Rumoured Leeds United target Marvin Bakalorz has told Sport Buzzer he is totally taken aback by speculation linking him with a move to Elland Road.
Fussball Transfers claimed on Monday that Leeds were back in for Bakalorz, two years after their interest in the player was first reported.
The German website added that a fee of around £7 million could be considered by the midfielder’s current employers, Hannover 96, who fielded enquiries from Everton and Galatasaray during the winter transfer window.
According to the man himself, however, Bakalorz has no intention of leaving the Bundesliga side for Leeds – or anyone else for that matter.
“I’m totally taken aback,” he said. “I do not know anything about it.
“As I said, I hear about it for the first time. [The chance to move] abroad is always interesting, but I see my future in Hannover because I feel comfortable here.
“It’s a cool city, a cool team, a cool club – I see my future here.”
Bakalorz played an integral role in Hannover’s promotion last season, and appeared regularly throughout the early part of the current campaign.
The 28-year-old has only started two of the Reds’ last nine league matches, however, although according to Sport Buzzer a first exchange has already taken place between player and club regarding an extension to his contract, which expires in June 2019.
