Marquinhos has labelled Gabriel Jesus a ‘machine’ after the injured Arsenal star posted ‘I miss you’ on his Instagram to supporters.

The 25-year-old hasn’t played since getting injured for Brazil at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, with Eddie Nketiah doing a more than a reasonable job, in the meantime, including during Mikel Arteta’s side’s 2-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday in the north London derby.

Nonetheless, when Jesus sent a message to fans on social media, added with a pretty uplifting image of him about to kick a ball, he received many positive responses in the comments section, including Real Madrid legend, Marcelo, sending a smiling face with heart-eyes emoji.

NKETIAH DOING THE BUSINESS

That was the one big concern from Arsenal fans that they would struggle without their all-action forward during his time in the treatment room.

But Hale-End star Nketiah deserves huge credit because, amongst all the pressure, he is stepping up and producing the goods.

He might not have scored in the north London derby, and in truth, he should have got a fair few goals, but he was outstanding for his side throughout the 90 minutes.

Now, it’s not yet known when Jesus will return from injury, therefore, that new attacking face is still needed this month.

Chelsea’s new boy Mykhailo Mudryk is out of the picture, so who do the Premier League leaders target next?

What has to be admired is that if a player doesn’t fit Mikel Arteta’s profile or the club’s price range, then they will happily walk away to ensure the long-term benefits of the club are intact.

That was proven last January with a certain Dusan Vlahovic, and it will be interesting to see how things pan out during these final few weeks of the winter transfer window.
