Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers are interested in signing Everton youngster Kieran Dowell as a replacement for Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria, according to The Scottish Sun.
Ejaria has returned to Liverpool after his loan spell at Rangers was cut short, and Rangers reportedly want to bring Dowell to Ibrox on loan from Everton in the January transfer window.
Dowell, who spent the 2017-18 campaign on loan at Nottingham Forest in the Championship last season, is struggling for playing time at Everton at the moment, and the 21-year-old attacking midfielder would be a good short-term signing for Rangers.
Another Everton youngster who could do with regular first-team football at the moment is defender Mason Holgate.
The 22-year-old, who can operate as a central defender or as a right-back, is reportedly on the radar of Leeds United in the Championship.
According to The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 61, December 23, 2018), Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds are monitoring the English youngster (click here to read more).

Everton Director of Football Marcel Brands has suggested that the Premier League club could send both Dowell and Holgate out on loan in the January transfer window – and this should encourage Rangers and Leeds.
Brands told The Liverpool Echo: “It is not a secret, a few young players with great potential – Mason and Kieran – need to play.
“I spoke to them both and we are looking to see if there is a good possibility for them to go on loan, then we will consider it.”
