Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United are in pole position for Liverpool target Kim Min-jae, according to a report in the Italian media.
Manchester United ready to pay big for Liverpool target
CMW have reported that Manchester United are leading the race for Napoli central defender Kim, a player who has also been linked with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
The Red Devils are ready to make a move for the South Korea international and are willing to pay €50 million (£44 million in transfer fees for the 26-year-old.
And this will come as a blow for Liverpool.
Like Manchester United, Liverpool are also claimed to be keen on securing the services of the Kim, who has just won the Serie A title with Napoli.

In March, Italian journalist Ciro Venerato has said, as quoted in Calcio Napoli 24, that Liverpool are keen on Kim.
Venerato added that United and Paris Saint-Germain are also ready to go big for the defender, described as “sensational” on BBC Sport in November 2022 by former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy.
Transfer battle
In our opinion, Manchester United will not have their way in regard to signing Kim Min-jae from Napoli in the summer transfer window.
Napoli have just won the Scudetto, and the Italian club may not be too keen on selling any of their key players in the summer transfer window.
Moreover, Liverpool and PSG could also be willing to spend big on the South Korean star.
The season is not finished yet, so even if United are in pole position now, nothing is set in stone.
