Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United are competing with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal for Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk, according to The Sun.
Manchester United eye Arsenal target Mykhailo Mudryk
The report in the British tabloid has claimed that Manchester United have been keeping tabs on Mudryk, with their scouts watching the winger in action this season.
United head coach Erik ten Hag has been keen on the Ukraine international since his time at Ajax, according to the report.
The Sun have added that Arsenal are also interested in the 21-year-old, claiming that United are unlikely to make a bid for him in the January transfer window because they invested so heavily in their squad in the summer of 2022.
It was only last week when it was reported that Arsenal have already made a bid for the Shakhtar winger.
As we covered here on HITC Sport, Arsenal submitted a bid worth €60m (£53m) to Shakhtar for Mudryk, according to Calciomercato.

Get him in January
In our view, that Manchester United do not plan to bid for Mykhailo Mudryk in the January transfer window should make Arsenal hurry up and snap him up.
Defending La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid are also reportedly interested in the 21-year-old, described as “an exceptional talent” by former Chelsea and Celtic striker Chris Sutton in The Daily Record last month.
If Arsenal want to get ahead of the competition, then they need to sign the winger in January and not wait until next summer.
