Manchester City are looking comfortable in the Premier League, but it’s not the only table that Pep Guardiola’s men are currently top of.

Sunday’s emphatic 4-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield took them 10 points clear of last season’s champions, who now languish in fourth.

The closest side to City are Manchester United, who sit five points behind Guardiola’s team in second having also played one game more.

Victory over Jurgen Klopp’s side was their 10th successive league win, and it’s earned them a place at the summit of Transfermarkt’s international form table.

Rankings for the table are based on the results of teams in every top flight league across the world over their 10 most recent fixtures.

Rangers have spent large chunks of this season at the top, having gone unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership.

The Ibrox club surprisingly held to a 1-1 draw by Hamilton Accies on Sunday, however, meaning they slip to 27th, two places above Barcelona by virtue of their superior goal difference.

Steven Gerrard’s team have won eight of their last 10 league matches.

City’s 100% record over their last 10 EPL outings sees them level on points with Shan United of Myanmar, FC Gomel of Belarus and Budućnost Podgorica of Montenegro.

It’s the men from the Etihad who take first place, again thanks to goal difference.

With none of their domestic rivals able to string together a consistent run of form, City are the only English side to make the top 100.

Speaking after the Liverpool match, Guardiola spoke of his delight at his men having secured their first win at Anfield since 2003.

He told the club’s official website: “What was important was the three points.

“Of course, I’m so proud of the guys who have broken a record that has stood for a long time, that shows how difficult it is and hopefully next time we can do a similar performance with people here.

“Anfield without people is completely different because I could imagine being at 1-1 and how different the influence would be on their players.

“But we reacted so well, nobody stepped back, everyone stepped forward with a huge personality. Raheem Sterling had an incredible game, like last season, but a phenomenal performance.

“The commitment from the guys in the stands who did not play supporting their team-mates.”
