HITC understands that Manchester City are ready to compete with Bayern Munich, not just for Florian Wirtz but also, for Jamal Musiala.
Bayern have long wanted to tie up a deal for Wirtz as they see him and Musiala combining to form an elite all-German attacking midfield partnership.
The star duo are already playing together for Germany and have a very good relationship on the field and HITC understands Bayern’s plan is to pair them at club level to.
Bayern and the rest of Germany saw the duo in fine form at the weekend as they inspired Germany’s 5-0 win over Hungary – both scored, whilst Musiala helped himself to three assists too.
However, Bayern are not alone in their admiration of Wirtz – who rejected the chance to leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer in order to stay with coach Xabi Alonso, who shunned Barcelona and Liverpool to stay put.
Florian Wirtz ready to move in 2025
Real Madrid and Barcelona are both admirers of the 21-year-old, but the main interest aside from Bayern has come from England.
Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been keeping tabs on Wirtz since he was a teenager and their interest remains.
But the strongest interest has constantly been from City and HITC is told they are the club Bayern fear the most when it comes to landing him.
Wirtz is likely to leave in 2025 and we are told clubs are now manoeuvring and are in constant contact with the player’s representatives about his options.
City want Jamal Musiala as well as Wirtz
HITC can also now reveal that Bayern are set for a battle with City and others, not just with Wirtz but also Musiala.
Musiala, 21 like Wirtz, has just two-years left on his current deal and Bayern are working hard to hammer out a new contract but as yet they have yet to make a breakthrough, which has alerted a host of clubs.
German star Musiala spent nine years in England as a youth and represented the young Three Lions before committing to ‘Die Mannschaft’. He was once on Chelsea’s books and like Wirtz he is believed to be considering his options.

And one of those who want him is City and HITC is told that the Cityzens would love to bring Musiala to the Etihad along with Wirtz, if the chance arose.
HITC understands that Arsenal are also huge admirers of Musiala – along with Real and Barca, who like with Wirtz, are keeping doing their homework on him.
