Manchester City are interested in signing Brighton and Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson as he continues to go from strength to strength.

That is according to a report from iNews, who claim that City are monitoring Ferguson for a potential future move.
City would like to keep Erling Haaland for a while yet, but Ferguson is being eyed as either support or their succession plan for the Norwegian.
It’s suggested that Ferguson may end up costing around £150million with Brighton poised to demand staggering money for the Irish striker.
We all know City have money to spend but they tend to operate at deals much, much lower than that and may face some tough negotiating if they make a move.

A big move to City would surely sting Liverpool, who previously had Ferguson on trial.
Previously with Bohemians over in Ireland, Ferguson admitted in 2022 that he had been on trial with Liverpool, as well as Manchester United, Everton and Celtic.
Liverpool and Brighton were the main options for Ferguson and he picked the Seagulls, believing that was the best pathway for young players.
Liverpool missed out on a potential superstar and they could see him join a direct rival in a huge transfer, far beyond any compensation the Reds would have had to pay back then.
Maybe Liverpool are still keeping tabs on Ferguson, but it’s already feeling like the transfer fee may go beyond their budget.
