Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Evan Ferguson, and James Milner’s verdict on his Brighton and Hove Albion teammate will surely encourage the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium faithful.
According to a report in TEAMtalk this month, Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Evan Ferguson from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window.
Tottenham have reportedly enquired about a potential deal for the striker.
The Seagulls, though, do not want to sell the 18-year-old Republic of Ireland international, according to the report.
James Milner praise for Tottenham Hotspur target Evan Ferguson
James Milner joined Brighton on a free transfer earlier this summer after leaving Liverpool at the end of last season.
And the former Manchester City and Newcastle United star has already been very impressed by Ferguson.
Milner told The Times about Ferguson: “Evan’s so young, lethal round the box with his finishing.
“Again there are lots of areas where he can get even better very easily and he’s so good already. It just shows the potential he has.”
We do not think that Brighton will sell Ferguson in the final days of the summer transfer window, but Tottenham could be able to sign him in the coming years.
After all, Spurs are a bigger club than Brighton.
And Brighton do tend to sell their best players, although they do so for a lot of money.
Perhaps in the next two or three years, Brighton could cash in on Ferguson if he continues to develop and progress and becomes a top striker in the Premier League.
Ferguson has made 23 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The teenage striker has scored seven goals and given two assists in those games.
Ferguson is just 18 now and is not the finished article.
And he has only just started playing in the Premier League.
We have to see how the striker develops and does in the next two or three years.
