Manchester City are reportedly comfortable with allowing with Bernardo Silva to leave the club in January if the Premier League side receive an offer they are happy with, with FC Barcelona interested in the playmaker.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Manchester giants are leaning towards allowing Silva to leave City in the winter transfer window, with Barcelona once again linked with a move for the Portuguese international as Xavi Hernandez looks to sign the former AS Monaco superstar.
As per the report, City will meet with Silva over the 2022 FIFA World Cup break to discuss the midfielder’s future at the club, with the reigning English champions excepted to allow the 28-year-old maestro to leave but only if they receive a good offer for one of their star players.
Silva has been a major clog in Pep Guardiola’s system with the versatile playmaker playing an essential role in City’s last two Premier League title wins. However, the midfielder’s dream of playing for Barcelona has seen the Catalan side extensively linked with the Benfica academy graduate.

Hailed as ‘magnificent’ by Alan Shearer, City had placed an asking price of £84m for Silva over the summer window when Barcelona looked prime to end their spending with the Portuguese international, as per the Athletic. However, no such bid came in, and the midfielder has since gone on to have another impressive campaign for the Manchester side.
Indeed, whilst Erling Haaland and Phil Foden have stole the show for City this season, Silva’s impact of two goals and five assists in all competitions is a good tally heading into the World Cup break. Yet for the Manchester side, they could well be open to a sale if the right offer comes in for the playmaker.
Bernardo Silva looks set to leave Manchester City in 2023

Silva’s time at City has been nothing short of sensational, with Guardiola taking one of Europe’s best talents and evolving them into something very few would have expected. And with the Cityzens now setting their conditions for the midfielder to leave, a deal in 2023 looks certain.
After all, City haver the funds to find a replacement for Silva in the market, and with the playmaker’s dream in the game being to play for Barcelona, there’s a good chance that this fantasy could become a reality in 2023 if the right offer comes in from the Catalan side.
