In the past few days, the world of football management has gone crazy as Tottenham continue their search for José Mourinho’s replacement.
Antonio Conte has left Inter Milan, while Zinedine Zidane also left Real Madrid last night in a shock turn of events.
In Conte’s case, the Guardian believe the Italian is interested in replacing Mourinho at Tottenham.
That revelation came amid news from La Stampa, which claimed that Daniel Levy has offered the 51-year-old a contract worth £17 million-a-year.
If the former Chelsea boss did end up in north London, there’s one player who he’s already taken a shine to – Harry Kane.
What did Conte say about Kane?
Speaking in 2017, Conte waxed lyrical about the 27-year-old, describing him as one of the best strikers in Europe.
ITV quote the Italian as saying: “For me, Kane, now, is one of the best strikers in the world. If I had to buy one striker I would go to Kane. He is a complete striker. He is strong physically, with the ball, without the ball, he fights and he’s strong in the air and acrobatic on the right and the left.
“He’s a complete player. He’s one of the top strikers in the world. If you go to buy Kane now it would be at least £100m.”
If Levy does hire Conte, the evidence suggests Kane will continue to find the back of the net on a regular basis.

At Chelsea and Inter Milan – his last two jobs – Conte has managed to get the best out of Diego Costa and Romelu Lukaku.
Under his guidance, Costa scored 22 goals in 42 games, while also providing eight assists.
The Spaniard was an absolute machine under Conte, and fired Chelsea to the Premier League title.
In Lukaku’s case, the Belgian netted 64 goals in 95 appearances with Conte as manager.

Evidently, the Italian knows how the utilise his frontmen.
Kane was able to score 33 goals in all competitions this term, even while playing under a defence-minded coach in Mourinho.
In that respect, imagine what he could do under Conte.
