Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast, Sam Allardyce has been discussing Everton’s situation after sacking Frank Lampard.
The Toffees are on the lookout for a new manager, and as with any relegation-threatened club, they’re reportedly interested in Allardyce.
However, it sounds as though the ex-West Ham manager isn’t so keen on a return to Goodison Park, stating that this job is ‘virtually impossible’ due to the financial restrictions on Merseyside right now.

Allardyce says Everton is an impossible job
The former England manager spoke about Everton’ situation.
“Everton at the moment, the sad thing is, how much is the team worth? For what was spent on it. You have a big problem with spending again. Man City made a profit this summer on transfers. The value of the Everton players compared to what was spent on them to what they might get,” Allardyce said.
“It’s virtually impossible at Everton now because of the financial restrictions. The right manager can save them but he has to shut off all of the surroundings and the white noise. They’re not going to ask me because if they were they’d have already done it.”
Awful situation
If Sam Allardyce thinks that your club represents an impossible job, you’re in trouble.
Allardyce is the ultimate firefighter. There’s not a single job too big or too daunting for the ex-Bolton gaffer, but it sounds as thogh this one is.
Put it this way, if Allardyce doesn’t want the job, not many will. Big Sam will literally take anything is the type of manager who will jump at even the most difficult of jobs, but the Goodison Park post looks to be a bridge too far.
Everton are in serious trouble.
