Speculation about Adama Traore joining Tottenham Hotspur just isn’t going away.
Even when the Spain international rejected a transfer to Spurs in January in favour of joining Barcelona on a half-season loan, the rumour mill didn’t stop.
In April, it was reported that Tottenham would be returning with another attempt to prise the powerful winger from Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer, with Fabio Paratici a massive admirer of the player.
Just this week, 90 Min reiterated the Lilywhites’ persistent interest in the 25-year-old.
And if Tottenham are genuinely interested, well he might be there for the taking.
That’s because Wolves boss Bruno Lage has admitted via The Examiner that Traore is for sale this summer, but only if Wanderers’ valuation is met.
He said: “In the end we need to understand there is a price for every player and if the price comes in and is good for the player and good for the club, then it’s ok, we need to accept.”
Is Adama Traore joining Tottenham Hotspur?
Honestly, probably not.
Despite losing Steven Bergwijn, Antonio Conte has more wide players slash wing-backs that he can shake a stick at.
Some £60 million was spent on Richarlison this summer, a winger by trade, and Ivan Perisic was also signed on a Bosman.
On the other side, Dejan Kulusevski starred in Saturday’s 4-1 victory over Southampton and of course, Lucas Moura remains a Tottenham player.
There’s just no need for the former Barcelona academy prospect, no matter how much Paratici reportedly likes him.
