Tottenham Hotspur will try again to sign Adama Traore this summer.
Well, that is according to Alasdair Gold, who exclusively covers Tottenham for Football London.
Spurs came close to signing the on-loan Wolves winger this past January but he wound up joining Barcelona until the end of the season.
But with the Spain international struggling for an impact at Camp Nou, despite some early promise, Gold has revealed that Fabio Paratici – who is a ‘fan’ – will try to finally bring him to North London during the summer transfer window.
He wrote in Football London: “I would imagine that Fabio Paratici will look at him again as he’s a big fan but I think, after an explosive first week or two, Traore has reverted to type at Barcelona and he’s struggled to get minutes outside the Europe League matches and when he has there have been no assists or goals.”
It goes without saying that Traore is an extraordinary physical specimen and one who has labelled ‘undefendable‘ by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
The Liverpool manager is clearly a massive fan but, by the same token, Traore’s end product continues to be in some doubt.
The 26-year-old has managed 38 games across all competitions for Wolves and Barcelona this season.
But according to Transfermarkt, he has only scored once and set up four goals from those games.
It’s a horrendous return in terms of goal involvements and although he’s a speed demon who’s as strong as a bull, there’s major doubt over his product and that will continue to hold him back.
