Glen Kamara is ‘definitely going to move on’ from Rangers this month with Championship giants Leeds United a potential destination for the one-time Arsenal man.

Speaking ahead of Rangers’ Scottish Premiership clash with Livingston on Saturday, Ibrox boss Mick Beale pulled no punches when discussing the future of a player who has fallen a long way down the pecking order since his Steven Gerrard heyday.

Glen Kamara was left out entirely against Kilmarnock on matchday one. He was conspicuous by his absence against Servette in the Champions League qualifiers too.

And should Leeds United step up their interest – the Yorkshire Evening Post believe that Kamara is a £5 million target for Daniel Farke’s side – Beale will not be standing in the Fin’s way.

Leeds like Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara

“It’s clear Glen Kamara is the player who’s definitely going to move on in this window,” Beale tells Yahoo Sport.

“If that goes (through), then we’re not far off from where we want to be in terms of close to breaking even on our net spend.”

A cultured, composed central midfielder who Gerrard once labelled a ‘class act’, Kamara’s poise in possession and his work-rate off the ball should see him slot into Farke’s engine room with ease.

It remains to be seen, however, if Tyler Adams’ aborted move to Chelsea means Leeds will instead focus their efforts elsewhere. Adams, should he remain a Leeds player beyond September, will add serious depth to a midfield boosted by the arrival of Ethan Ampadu and the emergence of teenager Archie Gray.

“He was outstanding today,” Farke told the Yorkshire Evening Post after 17-year-old Gray produced a remarkably accomplished display in last week’s 2-2 draw with Cardiff City. “You have to keep in mind, first game of the season, sold out Elland Road, first time more or less that he is in the starting line-up.

“To deliver such a mature performance…

“I think he wasn’t perfect. There were sometimes slight mistakes in his positioning. Also in his passing. But overall, I think for such a young lad, a really top-class performance.”
