Manchester United have now joined the growing list of Premier League clubs interested in River Plate star Enzo Fernandez, with Arsenal and Tottenham leading the chase for the midfielder.

According to TyC Sports, the Red Devils are eyeing the 21-year-old Argentine, who looks set for a big European move this summer after impressing for the South American giants over the past 12 months.

Manchester City, another side interested in Fernandez, have already snapped up River Plate teammate Julian Alvarez, who is set to join up with the Premier League giants in the summer, with his midfield counterpart now likely to join him in England.

Argentinian news outlet El Crack Deportivo have previously reported that both Arsenal and Tottenham are keen on Fernandez, who was hailed by former Albiceleste international Coco Basile as ‘the best in the league’ in Argentina.

Named after River Plate legend Enzo Francescoli, Fernandez has become a key member of Marcelo Gallardo’s side as a deep-lying midfielder, and with a reported release clause of €20m (£17m) as per Cesar Luis Merlo, the Argentine talent could be an exciting signing for many top clubs in Europe.

Moreover, with Arsenal, Tottenham and United all desperate to strengthen their central midfield, Fernandez could become the centre of an interesting transfer battle between the Premier League clubs.
