Kobbie Mainoo impressed Manchester United fans with his performance off the bench during their 4-1 win over Wolves on Monday night.
Bruno Fernandes put the Red Devils ahead in the 25th minute, but Wolves pulled level just before half-time through Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.
But Diogo Dalot found Bryan Mbeumo early in the second half to restore United’s lead, and that goal set the tone for the rest of the match.
Mason Mount added a third soon after, volleying home a cross from Fernandes, who then rounded off his brace from the penalty spot later in the match to seal a convincing win for Ruben Amorim’s side.

Amorim brought Kobbie Mainoo off the bench in the second half, giving him 12 minutes on the pitch after replacing Casemiro late in the match.
Mainoo did not take long to catch the eye, and United fans were quick to praise the 20-year-old midfielder’s contribution.
One fan wrote on X: “On this segment, I want Mainoo to start every match. Look at his passes, very key.”
Another commented: “Mainoo’s been so tidy, as per [usual].”
A third added: “Mainoo’s been brilliant. His quality is so, so clear to see.”
“Kobbie Mainoo is press resistant,” posted another Red Devil.
A fifth supporter said: “Mainoo [has] been our best sub. Shock.”
“Hoping Amorim is watching this Mainoo cameo,” a sixth fan published.
A seventh noted: “This cameo has not gone unnoticed [by] Mainoo. Consistently winning throw-ins and free-kicks in tight spaces.”
Someone else wrote: “Kobbie Mainoo, in a ten-minute cameo, has already [shown] more composure and ball retention in midfield than Bruno, Casemiro and [Manuel] Ugarte have all season.”
Kobbie Mainoo makes his mark off the bench in Man Utd’s win over Wolves
Mainoo has not started a league match this season, with Amorim preferring other options in midfield.
He has been limited to substitute appearances, and opportunities have been few and far between.
Despite this, his short spell on the pitch against Wolves was a clear reminder of what he can bring to United’s midfield when given a chance.
The discussion around Amorim’s team selections has not faded, especially regarding Mainoo’s absence from the starting XI.
Monday’s performance only added to that conversation, as the England international showed once again why fans are eager to see more of him.
United now have some time before their next league match, hosting Bournemouth at Old Trafford next Monday evening.
The fixture is set for an 8pm kick-off in the UK, giving Mainoo another week to push for more involvement in Amorim’s plans.
