- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
HITC understands that Manchester United are confident they have won the race to land former Arsenal starlet Chido Obi-Martin.
The Red Devils are now looking to finalise a deal for the highly-rated 16-year-old forward.
HITC revealed earlier this month that Manchester United agreed personal terms with Chido Obi-Martin over a move to Old Trafford.
Obi-Martin has now confirmed that he is leaving Arsenal after posting a goodbye message to his Instagram on Tuesday.
He has several offers on the table – Manchester United are in pole position to sign him but they are facing competition from German giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
Dortmund have shared a long-term interest in the Danish youngster with HITC revealing in November that they wanted to sign Obi-Martin.

Manchester United duo pushed for Obi-Martin deal
United are now closing in on a deal for Obi-Martin in what would be a statement signing for their youth team and long-term project.
His goal record at youth level was nothing short of ridiculous and he made headlines after scoring 10 goals at Under-16 level in one match against Liverpool. After making the step up to Under-18s he made headlines again by scoring 24 goals in seven matches.
Obi-Martin visited United’s training HQ earlier this month and was seemingly convinced that United is the right move for him.
Sources have told HITC that Manchester United duo Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund pushed the club to strike a deal for their fellow countryman.
Obi-Martin has previously revealed in an interview with Danish outlet Bold.dk that he views Hojlund as a role model.
“I really like Rasmus Hojlund. He is strong and powerful, so you can learn a lot from him,” he said.

“At the start he didn’t score that much for United, but now he has really found his form.”
Obi-Martin is now close to joining Hojlund at Old Trafford where he will join a growing list of exciting young players under Erik ten Hag.
