Manchester United are closing in on Bryan Mbeumo, and with that deal nearly done, attention could turn to adding another forward.

United have been chasing Mbeumo for much of the window, and now look set to finally get their man.

The deal for Mbeumo will cost around £65million upfront, with a further £6million in potential add-ons taking the total fee close to £71million.

Ruben Amorim is expected to push for another striker once the Mbeumo deal is finalised. United have already been linked with several centre-forwards this summer.

United have also shown interest in Tolu Arokodare from Genk, but their attention might shift back to a player they’ve targeted before.

Foot Mercato reports that United are once again pursuing Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani.

The report suggests that United view Kolo Muani as the ideal addition to Amorim’s squad, although Newcastle United are also interested.

Juventus are hoping to keep hold of him after a solid loan spell earlier this year, but now United appear ready to step into the chase again.

Aston Villa are another club showing interest, considering him as a potential replacement if Ollie Watkins departs this summer.

Newcastle are also mentioned again, possibly viewing Kolo Muani as an alternative target to Brentford’s Yoane Wissa.

With Brentford unlikely to let Wissa go after already losing Mbeumo to Manchester United, the Magpies could become serious contenders in the race for Kolo Muani.

How was Kolo Muani’s 2024/25 season?

Back in 2023, United opted for Rasmus Hojlund instead of Kolo Muani, despite considering a move for the Frenchman while he was still at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Now two years later, United are back in the market for Kolo Muani. However, his time since joining PSG in a £77million deal has been inconsistent, as noted by TNT Sports.

Kolo Muani managed just eight goals in 36 Ligue 1 appearances and was eventually dropped by Luis Enrique during the season.

Juventus then picked him up on loan for the remainder of the season, where he found form again with 10 goals in 22 matches.

The forward’s recent success in Italy could make him an attractive option for United again, especially now that PSG appear willing to part ways with him.

Bruno Fernandes had previously backed Kolo Muani to succeed, and Amorim may now be looking to bring them together as he searches for more firepower upfront.
