Manchester United are expected to finalise the signing of Benjamin Sesko this week, with a full agreement now in place.

United’s attacking overhaul is just about complete, with Sesko set to add even more firepower to an already promising front line.

After bringing in Premier League duo Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha earlier in the window, there was still a need for a striker, wich was a priority for both Ruben Amorim and the club’s recruitment team.

It did not take long for United to focus fully on Sesko. While Newcastle were also interested, it quickly became clear where he wanted to go.

The forward made his preference clear earlier in the week, leaving United and RB Leipzig to finalise the remaining details.

The deal is now very close to being completed, with Sesko already seen on his way.

On Thursday afternoon, news broke that United had struck a deal with Leipzig to sign Sesko. The agreement sees the 22-year-old move for £66.3 million, with another £7.3 million in add-ons.

Sesko did not waste any time making his way to Manchester, choosing to fly over straight away rather than wait until Friday.

Fabrizio Romano posted a photo of Sesko and his agent Elvis Basanovic on a private jet heading to Manchester Airport. He is expected to finalise the move soon after landing.

The striker was all smiles in the picture, clearly looking forward to getting started at his new club. Romano has also said that Sesko will sign his contract on Friday and could be unveiled at Old Trafford ahead of Saturday’s match against Fiorentina.

Manchester United vs RB Leipzig friendly included in Benjamin Sesko agreement

Sesko’s move to Manchester United is reported to be worth £66m, a fee that came in lower than many anticipated. The striker also accepted a lower salary compared to other offers, highlighting his eagerness to join the club.

With Sesko now heading to Manchester for his medical and contract signing on Friday, additional details of the agreement have started to come out.

Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg has reported that as part of the deal, United have agreed to play a future friendly against Leipzig.

The match will be held at the Red Bull Arena, with Leipzig set to receive all earnings from the fixture. Estimates suggest the game could bring in between £1.3m and £1.7m for the German side.

This arrangement could work well for both clubs. United may also benefit from building stronger ties with Leipzig, given the talent they continue to develop.
