With Manchester United preparing to bring in a new striker, there is growing talk about what that could mean for Rasmus Hojlund.
Hojlund has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford throughout the summer, but aside from some loan interest from Italy, nothing has materialised in terms of permanent offers.
Speaking during the links to Benjamin Sesko, the Danish striker was clear about his intentions. He isn’t ready to give up on his time at Old Trafford just yet.
If he remains determined to stay, United may need to find a way forward with him still on the books.
Benjamin Sesko welcomed playing alongside another striker

Ruben Amorim typically uses one centre-forward with two creative players in his 3-4-2-1 structure. This is not expected to change, but tactical adjustments will occur, especially when the Red Devils press for goals.
Fans will remember times last season when Amorim had to move Harry Maguire up front late in games out of necessity. It was a move born out of desperation rather than design.
This is something Sesko has appreciated before. Speaking to Bundesliga.com, he discussed how he and Lois Openda worked together at RB Leipzig:
“We’ve already played a long time together now, so we are more connected. The good thing is that because we both have speed and quality on the ball, we are not selfish. We help one another, and that’s what also makes us so effective,” he explained.
“We also have players behind who can play us in. I’m just looking forward to lots of matches with him, along with my other teammates. I think it’s going to be amazing.”
Rasmus Hojlund’s pre-season lifts hopes for a turnaround
Rasmus Hojlund finished last season in poor form, struggling through a tough run of performances. His post-season tour didn’t help matters either, as he continued to look off the pace.
But there were signs of improvement during the summer. He looked more energetic and even got on the scoresheet with a rare header.
At 22, with better support, he still has time to develop into the player he was expected to be.
The arrival of Sesko does not have to be a setback for Hojlund either. Even though they are competing for one spot in the team, if United bounce back this season and qualify for European football in 2026-27, there should be enough minutes for both players.
