- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
HITC understands that Manchester United are one of a number of teams tracking Denmark’s Euro 2024 star who shone against England.
Euro 2024 has kicked off with a bang with some superb games in the group stages of the competition as well as some stunning goals scored along the way.
One stunning goal was seen during England’s 1-1 draw against Denmark at the Frankfurt Arena. After Harry Kane had given the Three Lions the lead, Denmark responded superbly well in the first half.
Denmark found themselves level 10 minutes before half-time thanks to an outrageous long range strike from Sporting Lisbon midfielder Morten Hjulmand.

Multiple Premier League clubs show interest in Hjulmand
HITC has been told that the Red Devils were one of a number Premier League sides who are in Germany to watch the promising defensive midfielder.
Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United are understood to like Hjulmand and the Danish midfielder is also said to be high up on the club’s radar this summer as the Red Devils look for a new defensive midfield option.
The future of Brazilian defensive midfielder Casemiro is unclear as the former Real Madrid star struggled during his second season at Old Trafford.
However, United aren’t the only side from the Premier League who are keeping tabs on Hjulmand ahead of a potential move.
Sources have told HITC that alongside United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa have all been watching the Danish midfielder in recent times.
Hjulmand looked very secure in the middle of the park for the Danish national team against England and certainly did not look out of place against some of the Premier League’s best.
Key factor could stop Hjulmand from leaving Sporting Lisbon this summer
Despite the interest in the Dane, sources have also told HITC that Ruben Amorim remaining at the Portuguese club, which is now looking likely, may well impact how many players will depart Lisbon.
Back in April, HITC reported that Amorim was one of Liverpool’s key managerial targets to replace Jurgen Klopp this summer but a move never materialised.
It is now looking more and more likely Amorim remains at the club this summer which would affect United’s, or indeed any other Premier League clubs’ chances of landing the Danish midfielder.
