Manchester City are reportedly yet to confirm their stance on whether or not they want to sign Jude Bellingham, with the future of Bernardo Silva hinging on if the English side will move for the Borussia Dortmund wonderkid.
According to the Manchester Evening News, there is no indication that City will join the race to sign Bellingham in the summer, with the Manchester giants yet to join the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid in the hunt to land the 19-year-old England international.
Bellingham is expected to leave Dortmund next year according to the Daily Mail in a deal that could reach as high as £100m, with the Manchester Evening News stating that even stating that every big club in Europe will likely be chasing the former Birmingham City star.
However, whilst Pep Guardiola’s side could well join the fray, City’s participation is not set in stone just yet. The future of Silva is set to take priority before any move for a midfielder next summer, with Mundo Deportivo recently reporting that the Premier League champions could soften their stance on the 28-year-old in 2023.

Indeed, with Silva likely to leave the Etihad Stadium in the coming months, City could find themselves taking on Liverpool for the signing of Bellingham, a battle that the Manchester side could win given their immense financial backing and the number of former Dortmund players they already have at their disposal.
Erling Haaland and Manuel Akanji both joined City from the Bundesliga giants this summer, with the 22-year-old striker even telling Bellingham that he should join him in Manchester next year according to Ben Jacobs, and this could all lead to Guardiola making yet another record-breaking signing.
Manchester City could win race to sign Bellingham if Silva leaves

Bellingham’s future will be one of the biggest talking points in football next year, and for City, Silva leaving the club for Barcelona will not only open the Premier League side’s pathway to signing the Dortmund star, but the Manchester club could well win the race for the 19-year-old.
After all, Bellingham could be reunited with former teammates in Haaland and Akanji. And the prospect of playing for a club that regularly competes for silverware will be an incredible alluring one, as well as being coached by Guardiola.
