Manchester City have been reportedly inspired to sign Napoli superstar Khvicha Kvaratskhelia after the winger’s performance against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League earlier this season.
According to the Sun, the reigning Premier League champions are keen on signing Kvaratskhelia, alongside Liverpool, following the 21-year-old’s incredible display against Jurgen Klopp’s side last month, with Napoli sweeping the Reds aside 4-1 in Naples.
Kvaratskhelia has exploded onto the scene this season since joining Napoli, with the attacker playing a key role in the Serie A side’s sensational start to the campaign in both Europe and in the Italian top-flight, with the likes of City and Liverpool now lining up to sign the Georgian international.
Already hailed by Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti as ‘special’, Kvaratskhelia has been arguably the breakout player in Europe this season as Napoli continue to defy expectations, and after the attacker’s performance against Liverpool, City are now eager to sign the winger in 2023.

With reports already suggesting that Napoli are already working on handing Kvaratskhelia a new contract, the lure of the Premier League and the financial power of a club like City could be tempting for the Georgian superstar, especially when you factor in the possibility of playing with Erling Haaland.
Indeed, Kvaratskhelia’s stock is rising with every single game for Napoli, and for City, a move for the left-sided attacker could give a hint to Pep Guardiola’s long-term plans for the club, with Phil Foden thriving in the same position as the 21-year-old Serie A star.
City signing Kvaratskhelia could see Foden move to central position

Haaland has stolen the headlines for City this season, so much so that Foden’s own personal achievements have been buried in the press and by supporters on social media. Yet with the Cityzens seemingly eyeing Kvaratskhelia, this rumour could hint at a position change for the England international.
After all, Kevin De Bruyne himself has said Foden could replace him in the City midfield in the coming years, and with the Manchester giants now chasing Kvaratskhelia, a plan to move sign the Napoli star and move the Stockport-born sensation deeper down the pitch could already be in motion.
