Napoli are reportedly working on extending Kvicha Kvaratskhelia’s contract amid rumours that Liverpool want to sign the winger, who this season has taken Serie A by storm.
According to CalcioMercato journalist Daniele Longo, the Italian titans are eager to extend Kvaratskhelia’s contract at Napoli by an extra season, with the UEFA Champions League already willing to double the Georgian international’s wages in order for the winger to sign a new deal.

Signed for £9m last summer, Kvaratskhelia has been nothing short of spectacular for Napoli this season, with the former Dinamo Batumi star bagging seven goals and eight assists in all competitions for Luciano Spalletti’s side, who top both the Serie A standings and their European group.
As a result, Premier League clubs are already lining up to sign Kvaratskhelia, with CalcioMercato recently reporting that Liverpool and English rivals Manchester City are interested in the 21-year-old phenom, with the attacker likened to Mohamed Salah already based on his performances this season.
Hailed as ‘special’ by Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti as per Rai Sports, Kvaratskhelia signing a new contract with Napoli already could all but end Liverpool’s hopes of bringing the Georgian international to Anfield in 2023, and the move could be a hammer blow for Jurgen Klopp.
Kvaratskhelia signing Napoli contract could ruin Liverpool’s transfer plans

As mentioned, Kvaratskhelia has already been compared to Salah, who could soon be replaced at Liverpool if displays this season are anything to go by. However, should the Napoli star sign a new contract with the Serie A giants, the Reds might need to rethink their transfer strategy.
After all, Kvaratskhelia has all the quality and potential to become quite the superstar in the game, and with Liverpool keen to add to their forward line and again sign a long-term replacement for a key player, Napoli tying the forward to a new deal would be the last thing the Reds wanted to see.
