Wolves fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club announced that Dion Sanderson had joined Birmingham on loan.
What’s the story?
Well, the 21-year-old enjoyed a fantastic 2020/21 campaign on loan at Sunderland last season.
The Black Cats tried to re-sign Sanderson, while there was also an attempt from Newcastle.
Magpies supporters weren’t happy to see their side lose out to a Championship outfit in Birmingham.
Nevertheless, St Andrew’s is where the defender is heading.
Sanderson signed a new four-year contract before departing Molineux, which proves Wolves are keen to keep him around for the long-term.
Good move for Dion Sanderson
Wolves have done well to find this loan for Sanderson.
The Wednesfield-born defender shone in League One last season, so it would’ve been a waste to find him another move in the division.
Now, Sanderson is able to test himself at a higher level.
Should he impress again, it’s possible that Wolves will hand him some Premier League action the following season.
For now, Sanderson just has to focus on delivering the goods for Birmingham.
