Leeds United fans have reacted on Twitter to the rumours that Arsenal have had a bid rejected for Ben White.
Sky Sports report that Arsenal have seen a £40 million bid rejected for the one-time Leeds loanee from those in the South Coast.
Last summer, after White helped Leeds earn promotion to the Premier League before they went fishing for his permanent signature.
Despite the big offers that were put on the table from Leeds, those in the Brighton boardroom straight up rejected any advances on their player.
And given that White has since taken his game to another level, including becoming an England international, it’s no surprise that his stock has risen even further in the transfer market.
But Leeds supporters still cannot quite believe that Brighton are rejecting so much money from Arsenal for their player.
In effect, White isn’t even a regular in the Premier League or for his country, so there is clearly a lot of belief going in on a player based on these last two seasons – and one of them was in the Championship.
Wherever White ends up, whether it’s in the colours of Arsenal, Brighton, or dare it be said, someone else.
He will forever be remembered at Elland Road for the job he did to help the Yorkshire giants return back to the big time.
And it needs to be remembered, whilst Arsenal have seemingly had a bid rejected for the ball-playing centre-half, Leeds are also still reportedly keen on his talents.
So, it’s going to be interesting to see how all of this pans out in the coming weeks.
