Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Duncan Castles has named Leeds United and PSG amongst the clubs in the race to sign Ben White this summer.
The Brighton centre-half has enjoyed a fantastic debut season in the Premier League, and he’s attracting interest from a number of clubs across England and Europe.
What’s been said?
Castles says that there are so many clubs in for White at the moment, claiming that Leeds, PSG and Arsenal are amongst the sides in for him.
“Yeah, look. White is English, which is always a plus. He’s quick, he’s young at 23 and he’s comfortable on the ball, so he has most of the characteristics that clubs are looking for in centre-backs at the moment.
“There’s a lot of interest in him. I’m told that the clubs that are showing the most interest at present are Arsenal, Leeds United, who he played for on loan and tried to sign him last summer, unsuccessfully and Leicester City. There is also interest, not as strong, I’m told from Manchester United, and also a degree of interest from PSG which gives you a spread of the clubs.”

White back to Leeds?
Could Ben White return to Leeds?
Well, Castles certainly believes there’s an interest, but with PSG, Manchester United and Arsenal all in for him, they may have a tough time convincing him to return to Elland Road.
The fact that Leeds are now competing with that calibre of club for this type of signing just shows you how far they’ve come, even if they don’t manage to pull off the signing of White this summer.
This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
