Pablo Mari has been speaking about his Arsenal teammate Gabriel Jesus in an interview with Play Futbol.

The £14m man only spent a few weeks with the Brazil international before Mikel Arteta sent him on loan to Monza in Serie A, but the defender still has some stories to share about the South American.

Gabriel Jesus terrorised Pablo Mari at Arsenal

Interestingly, the Spaniard admitted that Jesus made life “very complicated” for him in training at London Colney.

As quoted by El Desmarque, Mari said: “In a week of training, what I had seen from Gabriel Jesus is a real bomb. He does everything well. I was amazed. I already thought that Arsenal was going to change with him and I was not wrong.

“Gabriel Jesus has made it very complicated for me. I was lucky enough to have him as a partner for a month or two and we talked about it.”

The 25-year-old hasn’t just made life difficult for Mari in England, but also for a number of Premier League defenders.

Arsenal’s new No.9 has already registered nine goal involvements in just 11 Premier League appearances for the Gunners, scoring five goals while also providing four assists.

Jesus is unerringly electric in the final third, and even when he fails to find the back of the net himself, his energy often causes chaos in opposition backlines.

Gabriel Jesus helps Arsenal in many ways

It’s interesting to hear Mari speak about how effective Jesus is in training at London Colney.

While it obviously bodes well for Arteta to have his talisman keeping sharp, the impact it has on Arsenal’s own defenders should not be understated.

The likes of Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes, Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu probably weren’t tested much when up against Alexandre Lacazette, who is far less lively in comparison to Jesus.

However, going up against one of the best strikers in Europe on a daily basis can only be a good thing for the Gunners backline, who already look much more formidable than last season.
