After an exciting January window which saw the likes of Bruno Guimarães arrive at Newcastle, another big name could be heading to Tyneside.
What’s the story?
Well, it was Christian Falk who claimed that Newcastle are interested in Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule, and he may now have agreed a deal to join the Magpies.
According to the €20m (£17m) man’s agent Volker Struth, the German has already decided which club he’ll join next.
As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Struth said: “The new club has already been decided. Niklas has made a decision and I would be surprised if he changed his mind.”
Sule’s contract with Bayern Munich expires in June, and the Bundesliga champions have already confirmed that their No.4 is leaving.
That is something of a blow to Julian Nagelsmann, who continues to play the 26-year-old regularly despite the situation.
So far this season, Sule has made 14 starts in the Bundesliga, and 26 appearances in all competitions.
Newcastle should’ve pushed for Niklas Sule in January

If Sule has already made a decision on his next club, surely it would’ve been possible to lure him away from Bayern Munich in January?
Eddie Howe only managed to sign one new centre-back during the transfer window, with Dan Burn arriving in an £11m deal.
According to The Athletic, he wanted two new central defenders.
Now, the Magpies only have Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schar and Burn to choose from, as well as Federico Fernandez.

Ciaran Clark would’ve been an option, but he was left out of the 25-man Premier League squad for the second half of the season.
In that respect, Sule would’ve been a hugely necessary addition.
Only time will tell if he’s now decided on a summer move to Newcastle…
