The 23-year-old was wanted by Leeds United in the summer.
Luton’s Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu in action
Luton Town boss Nathan Jones has been singing the praises of his midfield general Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu this week. Speaking to Bedfordshire News he highlighted the form of the former West Ham trainee, and suggested he was a Premier League player in the making:
“He such a popular member of the squad, at the heart and soul of everything, and he has now added a seriousness to his game as well.
“He’s got such good attributes – Premier League attributes. He will get there, hopefully with us.
Jones hopes of taking Luton to the Premier League with Mpanzu in tow seem a little ambitious, to say the least. It seems more likely that the midfielder could end up there with another team perhaps Leeds United?
Leeds are currently fighting for promotion to the top-flight under the guidance of Garry Monk are known to carry an existing interest for the Luton star.
Luton’s Pelly Ruddock in action with Braintree’s Chez Isaac
HITC Sport reported in August that Leeds had seen a bid for the player rejected by the Hatters but if Leeds can manage to find their way to the top-flight it will be very hard for Luton to stand in the way of Mpanzu’s Premier League dream.
He has been in great form this season, playing 43 times and 23-year-old has even shown an ability to play at centre-back this term – which will only make him more appealing to Leeds.
Revisiting this interest in the summer might be a good move from the West Yorkshire club.
