Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after hearing what Antonio Conte has decided to call Harry Winks.
What’s the story?
Well, as is often the case in football, players are given nicknames.
Wayne Rooney’s was Wazza, while Paul Gascoigne’s was Gazza. Steven Gerrard was called Stevie G, and so on.
Evidently, nicknames in football aren’t the most creative.
Conte’s nickname for Winks is no different, although it is hilarious.
Speaking ahead of Tottenham’s clash with Leeds this Sunday, the Italian hilariously referred to the 10-cap England international as Winky.
There’s no point beating around the bush – in England, for those of you who aren’t aware, the term winky means penis, as is the dictionary definition.
Presumably, Winks wouldn’t mind a different nickname!
Does Harry Winks have a future at Tottenham under Antonio Conte?

Unfortunately, Winks didn’t have much fun under Nuno Espirito Santo.
According to The Times, the Tottenham Academy graduate was looking to leave Spurs in January under the Portuguese coach.
Winks also questioned Nuno’s decision to leave key first-team members in London for the UEFA Conference League tie against Vitesse Arnhem.

Of course, everyone gets a clean slate under a new manager, but Conte is yet to use Winks in the Premier League, so his future remains unclear.
Keep an eye on the situation, as in our view, Winky could still leave N17 in January.
For now, let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about Conte’s nickname for the Spurs No.8…
