Tottenham once again slipped up in the race for top-four, yet Cristian Romero gave supporters a moment to treasure for the season.
The Spurs defender was photographed shouting at Harry Maguire following the Manchester United captain’s mistake which saw the game level at 2-2 at Old Trafford.
As we know, though, Cristiano Ronaldo shot down any hope of a stunning Tottenham comeback as the United superstar bagged a late header to complete his first hat-trick since returning to the red side of Manchester.
With Arsenal playing at home later today, Tottenham could be as many as five points off the top-four, with Antonio Conte’s side also having just one game in hand compared to the Gunners’ three.
Indeed, this weekend has been far from perfect for Tottenham, yet Romero’s incredible celebration and the image that has spawned from the fixture was a notable highlight for Spurs supporters on social media.
The Argentine, who was signed by Nuno Espirito Santo, has been in exceptional form as of late, with Conte getting the best out of the on-loan Atalanta star despite conceding three goals this weekend.
Whilst Tottenham remain on the backfoot for a top-four finish, getting the best out of the South American will be key if Spurs are to return to UEFA Champions League football, a competition Romero has played in more recently than the north London club.
