Furio Valcareggi has told Calciomercato.it that he expects Paulo Dybala will join Inter Milan from Juventus in a free transfer as the reported Tottenham target wants to remain in Italy.
The Argentine is one of the hottest properties on the market after the Bianconeri elected against extending his contract. Dybala will leave Turin at the end of the season after seven years at the club following a €32m (£26.5m), rising to €40m (£33m), switch from Palermo.
Clubs from around Europe are now courting the 28-year-old’s services, with the Old Lady’s vice-captain enjoying a 13-goal, six-assist season. He fired three and created one goal over five Champions League games, but could not stop his Serie A side’s last 16 exit to Villarreal.
Tottenham are among the teams eager to add Dybala to their ranks in a free transfer from Juventus this summer. TuttoMercatoWEB reporter Giacomo Iacobellis cites Spurs, Arsenal, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain as talking to the Inter Milan target’s agent, Jorge Antun.
But Inter Milan are edging ahead, as Gazzetta dello Sport noted this week that the San Siro side are closing in on a deal amid continuous contacts with Antun. But the Nerazzurri want to first offload Alexis Sanchez to raise enough funds to afford Dybala’s anticipated salary.

Dybala is requesting a contract worth €10m-a-year (£160k-a/w) net, including bonuses, at his new team, per Sky Italia. The onerous request is a tall order for Inter Milan to afford if chairman Giuseppe Marotta cannot remove a high-earning star who is no longer required.
Yet football agent Valcareggi expects Inter Milan to overcome their hurdles and edge any rival approach from clubs like Tottenham to seal Dybala’s free transfer from Juventus. As while moving to Milan would be divisive, the 32-cap star very much prefers to stay in Italy.
“For me, he goes to Inter,” Valcareggi said. “From Beppe Marotta, it is an important club. Foreign countries are less popular because he prefers Italy for many reasons. There will be a lot of controversy but with a great offer, it is right that he goes to Inter.”
