Kalvin Phillips’ reign as a Leeds United player has officially come to an end after he joined Manchester City on Monday.
Kyle Walker reacted to his transfer on his Instagram story by telling his fellow countryman that he is ‘looking forward to working with you’.
For England, both Walker and Phillips should be pretty familiar with one another now because the boyhood Leeds fan has been part of Gareth Southgate’s set-up for a couple of years.

Whilst it ended in heartbreaking defeat, they were part of the England side that reached the final of Euro 2020 last summer and now they will be hoping for trophy success at the Etihad.
Walker has been used to that for a while, helping Pep Guardiola win four out of the last five Premier League titles and dominate English football.
The one that alludes them all is that all-important Champions League crown, but could Phillips’ transfer, added with the arrival of Erling Haaland, help push Man City over that line?
Well, only time will tell as Man City’s £45 million right-back (BBC Sport) posted the following message to Phillips when his transfer was confirmed.
“Welcome @Kalvinphillips. Looking forward to getting to work with you bro.”

LEEDS MOVING ON FROM PHILLIPS
No time to dwell for those in Yorkshire because they have their own problems to worry about now.
Four new faces have already walked through the Elland Road gates this summer and it seems as though more players are to come.
RB Leipzig’s Tyler Adams is seemingly closing in on a £20 million to Yorkshire, he would be the second American to arrive since Jesse Marsch was handed the job.
The Leeds boss is clearly fishing in the markets he knows very well, just like Erik ten Hag is trying to do at Manchester United and what Antonio Conte did so well at Tottenham last season.
But given Leeds’ troubles last season, this is a far biggest test that awaits Marsch and his players ahead of the new campaign.
