Fabrizio Romano says Leeds United have completed a £20million-plus add-ons move to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams. The USA star is now expected to travel to Leeds to undergo a medical and sign a long-term deal.

Adams, 23, has been strongly linked with a move to Elland Road since reports emerged that Kalvin Phillips would join Manchester City. On Monday, that came to fruition – Phillips signing a six-year deal at The Etihad.

Now, Leeds are going about their business to replace Phillips. Adams looks to be that man. The USA and Leipzig man is a player Marsch knows well, having worked with him at Leipzig and during his days as New York Red Bulls manager.

Reports state that Leeds are hoping to complete a double deal for both Adams and Luis Sinisterra before the end of the week. Now, Romano posted his catchphrase ‘here we go’ regarding a Leeds move Adams, north of £20million.

Here we go: Romano says Leeds have completed Adams move

A brilliant bit of business for Leeds. Adams has been linked quite regularly with a move to the Premier League and now it appears that the midfielder will get a move to the Premier League – a third spell under Marsch.

Leeds desperately need a midfielder after the loss of Phillips. While Adams might not be the player Phillips is, he has the potential to grow into that mould. There is also consideration that Phillips was not ideal for Marsch’s system.

For a fee of £20million plus add-ons, Leeds are getting a player with almost 200 appearances for club and country. An energetic, hard-working, talented midfielder that on paper, fits exactly what Leeds want.
