Thierry Henry has warned Arsenal ‘you celebrate the title after 38 games’, and not 11, as he sent out a Premier League title message to his former club.

The Arsenal legend used Liverpool as an example and how they pushed Manchester City time and time again, but found themselves on the other side of the title celebrations.

Henry added by saying that the current Premier League champions can be ‘loud’, as of this moment, because they are proven, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (25/10/22 at 7:20 pm). – Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have won four out of the last five titles.

But whilst it has been Liverpool that have been previously breathing down Man City’s necks, they are now getting a different sort of challenge.

It’s Mikel Arteta’s side who, after their 11 games – those below them have played a game extra – are sitting at the top of the table.

Despite that and the positive vibes coming from the Emirates, the last man to guide them to that success out on the pitch is certainly not getting carried away.

“11 games, you celebrate the title after 38, not before that,” said Henry. “That’s me, I have always been with my mentality.

“What we are talking about right now is hope. Man City can talk. Man City can be loud because I have seen it before and I know what it takes for a team to stay with them. Look at Liverpool, twice Liverpool tried to maintain the rhythm of Man City and they burned their wins. So, let’s see what’s going to happen to us.

Henry is then told to be ‘happy’ at Arsenal being top of the league: “I won’t get carried away. We have hope and I have a lot of hope, at the minute.”

CAN ARSENAL MATCH MAN CITY?

Whatever happens, during the final few months of the season, Man City will still be plugging away, racking up the goals and the points for fun.

It’s just a case of whether Arsenal can match the serious pace in which they have been setting for many, many years now.

Arteta has been part of that very squad, including the team that secured a record-breaking 100 points, so it will be interesting to see how he can use those experiences to benefit his own players.

But, whilst fans are hyped about being at the top of the table, it needs to be remembered that the minimum aim has always been to secure Champions League football.
