Liverpool are among the clubs reportedly that have made Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha a target with the Eagles hero’s contract expiring next summer – a player Jamie Redknapp once described as the best player outside the top six.
Zaha, 29, has become a Palace legend during his time at Selhurst Park. Not even in his thirties, the Ivory Coast star has clocked up an enormous 439 appearances for Palace. He has had a hand in 162 goals, scoring 88 and creating 74 more.
But his contract at Palace is set to expire at the end of the season. Whether Palace want to sell him for a cut-price fee in January, or prefer to let him go for nothing next summer, remains to be seen. Of course, he could sign a new contract.
CalcioMercato claim that Zaha is a target for Liverpool – who are yet to really replace Sadio Mane. Diogo Jota has picked up a long-term injury. Speaking in 2017, ex-Reds star Redknapp said Zaha is the best outside of the top six.

“Some of the things Zaha was doing on the ball at Leicester were unbelievable. He is the best player outside the big six clubs and it is vital Hodgson keeps hold of him next month,” Redknapp wrote in his Daily Mail column.

What a signing he would be for Liverpool. Mane was a blow, but bringing in Zaha would be as close as you can get to Mane without literally bringing him back from Bayern Munich. That is, if Zaha repeats his Palace form at Anfield.
Zaha has gone to new heights since the arrival of Patrick Vieira. Already a superstar, his goals have dramatically increased. He scored 15 last season, and then five his nine Premier League games this time around. A superb signing.
