Liverpool remain heavily linked to defensive reinforcements as speculation grows around their summer recruitment plans.

With Arne Slot expected to put his stamp on the squad, several names have emerged in the rumour mill, some carrying more weight than others.

Here is a clearer look at the latest Liverpool transfer talk, cutting through the noise to highlight what is worth watching.

Liverpool eye Youri Baas

According to DaveOCKOP, Liverpool are reportedly keeping a close eye on Ajax centre back Youri Baas, with the 22-year-old catching attention for his composure and positional sense in the Eredivisie.

Baas fits the profile of recent defensive targets, comfortable on the ball and tactically aware, but any interest at this stage is believed to be early rather than advanced.

The Reds are understood to be casting a wide net across Europe as they assess their defensive needs ahead of the new season.

Ryan Flamingo also earmarked for Anfield move

Ryan Flamingo, currently with PSV Eindhoven, is another Dutch-based defender linked to Liverpool by DaveOCKOP, as the club continues to scout the Eredivisie.

The 23-year-old’s physicality and versatility have made him a regular in PSV’s back line, and those qualities have not gone unnoticed.

However, like Baas, the links remain part of broader scouting efforts rather than signs of an imminent move.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka rumours proven false

Hammers News reported that Aaron Wan-Bissaka being linked to Liverpool was dismissed by West Ham officials, who described the reports as completely inaccurate.

The right back has impressed since moving to West Ham, which sparked speculation of interest from Anfield ahead of the winter transfer window deadline.

Those claims were later echoed as wide of the mark in a wider transfer roundup, reinforcing that Wan-Bissaka is not on Liverpool’s radar.

As it stands, Liverpool’s defensive links appear to form part of longer-term planning rather than immediate transfer moves, with only a small number of names carrying real substance.
